Meet Jane Malm, one of our Senior Graphic Designers at image.works! She grew up in Deforest, WI, and attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, earning her BFA in Graphic Design, which she has skillfully applied at image.works for the last eight years. When she’s not at work, Jane can be found having fun with her husband, Chad; two kids, Adelyn (7) and Caden (5); and devoted cocker spaniel, Lolly. Her hobbies include fitness, cooking, reading, staying busy with house updates or projects and doing the following activities with her family: golf, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, biking and walking.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love that I get to learn, grow, improve and be creative in some way every day!
What brought you to image.works?
I’ve been fortunate to work in many different areas of graphic design: signage, T-shirt and embroidery, book cover design and vehicle wraps. I also worked for the university, which allowed me to mentor student designers. image.works has been a great fit because it continues to cater to the many different facets of graphic design, so there is never any concern with being bored.
Do you have any interesting client success stories to share?
I feel lucky because I have been with many of my key clients since day one. After eight years, it’s been great to help these brands to develop, and I’m proud of the work we have built together.
What’s your favorite travel destination in Wisconsin?
My family and I love exploring Madison and the local suburbs on the weekends. As my kids get older and better at road trips, we hope to get out more to Milwaukee, Door County and possibly northern Wisconsin for camping someday.
What is the most “Wisconsin” thing about you?
I participated in and won an award for the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw & Festival in Prairie du Sac, WI.
What’s something about you that would surprise people?
I played every sport available to me growing up and ended up competing in soccer and swimming in high school. My life goal is to be fit and remain active for the rest of my life.
What do you think is the most admirable characteristic a person can have?
Being your true and honest self.
What are your words to live by:
We can do hard things.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled, and why?
My honeymoon was pretty amazing. My husband, Chad and I flew into San Francisco, explored the city a bit and drove up to Sonoma, CA, for wine tastings and various restaurants for a little over a week. We ended the week back in San Francisco and flew to Cabo, Mexico, where we stayed at an all-inclusive resort for a week. It was the best balance of adventure and running around and trying new things, followed by a week to recover and feel spoiled; we enjoyed the pool, resort amenities and relaxation. It was perfect!
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
My role as a parent and my kids; I’m so proud of who they are and excited to see what they become.
