Employee Spotlight: Erin Hannan

Meet Erin Hannan, another talented member of image.works’ design team. Like all our designers she’s creative, but she’s also incredibly well rounded; outside of work Erin’s into abstract painting, weightlifting, watching Big 10 sports and reading. She and her husband Matt have a lab mix puppy, Hank, which gives her another outlet for both left-brain and right-brain activities: dog training and making dog bandanas.

What brought you to image.works?

I worked in marketing for a bank for 6 years and transitioned to image.works when I moved to Madison, Wisconsin—it was the perfect fit for my experience in financial marketing and allowed me to be creative and work with a variety of brands and companies.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love getting to meet, work with and build relationships with clients from across the country. I also really enjoy working day to day with my talented colleagues at image.works.

Any interesting work-related or client success stories?

Last year we partnered with Vault.Bank, a new Wisconsin-based online bank. It was an exciting challenge to create the logo, branding and initial marketing pieces featuring University of Wisconsin athletes. Seeing everything in action after the company launch was very rewarding.

What is the coolest or most important marketing trend you see happening today?

Marketing trending toward being educational or entertaining rather than just trying to sell a product or service.

Do you have a secret talent?

My friends and family will often send me images of fonts and ask me to identify them—I can usually figure them out right away. This skill probably has its roots in my childhood obsession with the Print Shop computer program; I loved looking through the different fonts and clip art. I think my career was meant to be!

What’s the most admirable characteristic a person can have?

Integrity

If you could learn a new skill, what would it be?

Learning to speak Spanish

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

I love traveling to new countries and exploring new destinations, but my favorite place is Sanibel Island, Florida. I grew up going there, so visiting brings back many great childhood memories and reminds me of my grandparents, as it was their favorite vacation spot.

What activities or groups are you involved in outside of work?

I joined a CrossFit gym last year and absolutely love it. It’s really pushed me to learn new (hard!) things and challenge myself. I also get really excited whenever I hit a new personal record.
