Meet Alison Herbst, one of our Project Managers and Marketing Automation Specialists at image.works! She grew up in Wauwatosa, WI, and attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, earning her degree in marketing with a minor in digital media and design, which she has skillfully applied at image.works. Alison will celebrate her three-year anniversary with us this September, and we couldn’t be happier to have her! When she’s not at work, Alison can be found having fun with her boyfriend, Trevor; her mom, Amy; her father, Chris; older sister, Taylor; little brother, Ben; and their family dog, Bob. Her hobbies include reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Describe what you do on a day-to-day basis.
On a day-to-day basis, I work with the Sales Reps to get projects entered and started, I then work with the design team and copywriters to get the projects started and communicate with the clients to make sure we are meeting all their expectations and needs! I also work with Christian to create and build email automations where email blasts are scheduled for our clients.
What brought you to image.works?
My boyfriend, Trevor, connected me with IW when they were looking for a project coordinator intern. I was finishing my last semester of college right when covid started and decided to take on an internship at IW while I finished my semester. After my internship was over, they offered me a full-time position at IW and I was more than happy to continue my career with IW!!
What do you enjoy most about your job? What is the most rewarding part?
I really enjoy the organizational aspect of my position. I have always loved organizing projects in school and being the leader, getting things done, so I was glad I could carry that over to my position as a project manager. The most rewarding part is hearing how happy a client is with our team and how much they appreciate our hard work. Some projects are more difficult than others and it is always extremely rewarding to see the hard work come to life and bring joy to our clients.
How has image.works influenced or helped you grow?
IW is an amazing company, and they are more than willing to help you grow in your career. Since starting as an intern, both Mark and my team have helped me advance my skills and knowledge within my position. Sometimes additional work can be intimidating, but my team has always been extremely encouraging and pushed me to try new things like Marketing Automation and I am so grateful for them all! This has helped me grow my confidence in my skills and knowledge, and that I need not doubt myself!
Favorite place to travel to in Wisconsin?
Door County! My parents have a lake house in Sturgeon Bay, and it is my happy place here in Wisconsin.
Favorite WI Sports team?
Badgers!!
Weird or irrational fears
I am almost 25 years old, and I am still afraid of the dark!
Words to live by
“She believed she could, so she did.” My aunt gave me a bracelet with this quote engraved on it before I left for college. I have never taken that bracelet off in the past 7 years!
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Montana. It is the most beautiful and relaxing place I have visited. Nothing beats the views of the mountains when you are hiking there. If you ever go, make sure to get everything huckleberry flavored!
What is the coolest/most important trend you see happening today?
Influencer Marketing. I know some may not agree, but I love seeing how successful it has become and how wide a target audience it can reach!
